In case you don't know the story, because it's been a while since I told it, this quilt by Melanie (which will always be a superior quilt to any I make, it has over 3000 1.75" squares in it) was the catalyst I needed to make my own (her quilt was from a pattern in an old 2002 edition of American Patchwork and Quilting) and has now become a complete obsession. Melanie is one of those people that I would love to know in real life, every single thing she makes amazes me. I'd like to sit and drink tea with her, Lynn and C. I'd probably go all quiet and shy though, but, boy - the things you could learn from just listening to them. They're my holy trinity of amazeballs crafters.
Brenda asked if I'd like to do a giveaway of a large FQ bundle of scrap vomit. Ummmm...heck yes. There's 25 fat quarters in this pack, randomly picked with no consideration of what goes with what. In actual fact, a lot of the fabrics in these packs are really awesome...some are not so awesome...some are pretty awful. They are, however, all designer quilting cottons, from well known manufacturers - no nasty stuff in quality here. They make a great stash building bundle as well, because the value is great (working out at $6/yard). If you use SPIN15 on these, you get 15% off, which makes them even crazier good value.

I spy a golden retriever puppy! I like the light blue tangerine combo here. I've never been so excited for a chance to get some vomit...
Every time you make another scrap vomit quilt, I desperately want one. Then I start cutting squares, and then the project gets cast aside before it even gets started because cutting that many 2.5" squares is absolute torture to me. If only they would cut themselves...Beautiful quilt!!
I'm actually jealous that I haven't accumulated enough scraps to make a scrap vomit quilt of my own, one day! Thanks for the give away!
I must make one of these soon!! I have to start chopping up my scraps!! Love them all :)
OMG count me in count me in! I want this so bad! Working on SV quilt no 2 and this would be for SV quilt no 3 :D
I would love to make a SV quilt!
Have a great time at sewing summit - We will want to hear all about it when you get back!!
I love the idea of a scrap vomit bundle! :)
I don't usually go in many giveaways but Oct 11 is my birthday so maybe it's an omen :)
Oh I just love your quilt. I have to get cracking and make one myself. Have fun in SLC.
I'm up for it having finished SV2 this week (see blog)
A hint for cutting - cut your scraps as you go with other projects. Saves time and minimises affort.
I'd love some (s) crap fabric! :)
I love your scrap vomit quilts. One day I will make my own.
It looks awesome! Do you use stabilizer for the squares? They're tiny!
This is so fabulous! A scrap quilt needs some 'not so fabulous' fabrics ; )
Me ME! Pick me!!!
That is a super fab and scrapilicous quilt! I love it.
Well, I have completed my first Scrap Vomit quilt. However, even before the first one was completely pieced, I had already started on a second - they are addicting!! Thanks for the chance to win the bundle - it would give @3 a jump start :-) Have fun in SLC!
Every time I see one of your scrap vomit quilts I can't wait to have enough fabric to do that. Slowly I'm getting there. ;)
You made an incredible quilt. Love that tangerine pop in the center.
As a new quilter, I don't have enough scraps to take on this type of quilt yet, but it would be awesome to try with this bundle! Thanks.
I have lots of scraps just waiting to be cut into 2.5" squares but winning this bundle would give me a lot more variety. Just a couple more WIPs to finish up then I can begin...
I'm so inspired by your quilt, it's lovely. I'm collecting scraps for mine!
I would love to make a SV Quilt of my own; I just haven't been quilting long enough to have enough scraps! I'm working on it, though!
Thanks for the giveaway!
megromeo@gmail.com
These quilts look so neat! I probably do have enough scraps to attempt one, but can't pass up an opportunity to win more...
Great vomit quilt top. Love a give away. Thanks for a chance to win.
Oh I would love to make one of these! pick me please! hehe
Have been envying your scrap quilt and wanting to make my own. Need to get started don't I? Perhaps some new fabric would help!
I love scrappy quilts, the more scraps the better, so I'd better enter your giveaway, right?!!
Great Quilt! It may be called vomit but I think it looks like it's been made from the seagulls favourite bits (those never get left behind!)
I love scraps quilt, and your pattern is perfect for scraps.
I am making a scrappy string quilt at the moment -don't tell anyone but it may just be for the dog!! - I have to do something to stop him pinching mine!!!! Hugs
WTG! Sewing up your 4th quilt. I'm still working on my first Postage Stamp Quilt. I got bitten by the bug too but I need more fabric. Your giveaway is perfect. Thanks for the opportunity to win more fabric.
I was pondering where the carrot was in your bundle. All vomit has carrot bits
Most of those squares look pretty tasteful, where are the Welsh miners?! Have a great time in America.
I never thought I would hope to win vomit! Thanks for the chance :)
Wow.. 4th one.. But I understand why you love it so much.. it is so beautiful and scrappy.. I am making mine in between other project.. I'm using spider technique as to reduce thread wasting in between project.. The best thing was not choosing the fabrics-just pick up and sew.. Love!
beautiful quilt! the bundle sounds like lots of fun!
I love your blog!! Thanks for the chance to win some awesome and not so awesome fabrics...LOL
I LOVE your scrap vomit quilts! And I think it would be fun to make something from the scrap vomit pack. Sewing Summit is going to be a blast!
Love...next one for me will have a bright center in it ;) Have fun!
Now I have my new machine I may attempt a scrap vomit quilt. When I made my hexie charm quilt I loved that even fuggly fabric came into it's own once part of the whole quilt. So many people only wanted designer fabric - but really any fabric works at this scale doesn't it - in fact some is most definitely improved?
It's a brilliant way of using up those "why on earth did I buy it!" FQ's (I've just spotted some artichoke fabric......) I love the fact that most of it requires no planning, just lots of sewing without thought. It's awesome.
I would like to get better at using fabrics randomly. I do get caught wanting to match. I think this is partly because I have only been quilting for 3 years and I feel like if I go random, more experienced quilters will think I don't know how to piece ;-) But when I have done it, it IS very freeing and a fun way to use up scraps.
thanks for the chance to win!
Michelle
I love the tangerine - I think I am really going to have to start my own soon!
i have 5 vomit blocks done but need more fabric vomit ,great giveaway enjoy your trip .
Ooh--I'd love to win those. As soon as I finish some other projects around here, I want to make my own vomit--those would be a great addition to my mix.
This sounds like fun. I love the idea of a vomit bundle.
Well now....this is no "pukey" giveaway here....(grin). Please sign me up and thank you for the chance! And BTW....when copying somebody elses idea I always remind myself that "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery".....well that works for me.....lol....
I just joined a scrap vomit swap through Swap Bot and just received my first package of 48 2/12" squares. I know it's going to take a lot more than the 144 I end up with but think it will be wonderful!
thanks for such a generous giveaway!
I have been dying to try a scrap vomit quilt! I love the concept and the name. And who doesn't appreciate A coupon too? Thanks Katy!
I love using ugly prints cut up really small. Thanks for the giveaway.
Enjoy the sewing summit! It's definately starting to feel like fall here! The mountains are so beautiful right now!
What an awesome giveaway!
4?!? I don't even have my first 10 blocks for the first one done! So jealous! I have gotten at least 2 others hooked on this idea and we are all having so much fun with it!

Great Vomit top! I hope I'm the lucky winner.

Love the tangerine centers! Thanks for the chance to win!
I'd love to get a little vomit on me. Thanks for the chance!
Who would think you could be excited about winning good quality, but possibly ugly fabric! That's awesome!
I really don't think I belong in that trinity of quilters, but thank you! Tea would be lovely--I have a feeling I'd be the shy one though. :)
Wow! Thanks for sharing such a great bundle!
Oh, lovely! I've started cutting squares for my first scrap vomit so it would be fun to have a whole bundle of fabrics to cut up. Thank you to you and Brenda for a great giveaway!
wow, number 4, thats serious vomiting!
Know what you mean about the piecing, it's lovely to do that. Very cool quilt!
I would love to win since I need more squares to get going on mine! Katy you rock!
I would love to have enough scraps to make such quilts for my nieces, looks like fun. Such a bundle would be a great help;)
I just met with my modern quilt quild and asked for them to give me all of their scraps. I am pretty sure that they all though that I was crazy for wanting to complete one of these, but maybe I am a little. I am okay with that.
Thanks for the inspritation.
I love the idea of these scrap vomit quilts. Someday I will make one...
I really want to start on one of these... but figure... I already have SO. MUCH. Fabric, and so many WIPs... do I really need another?
Yes, yes of course I do. Because every quilter is a secret hoarder / collector of pretty things. So I'd love to win. ;) Thanks for the chance!

I'm working on a floating block style scrap vomit quilt at the minute. Well sort of, I'm waiting for some squares from the swap that just happened to arrive and I've cut a whole bunch of my own so far.
I want my some scrap vomit! I may just have to buy it, though, if I don't win!
Oh pleeeeeeeease can I be randomly picked to win! I've just embarked on my own scrap vomit quilt (inspired by you and the @gnomeangel scrap vomit swap!) This would be such an awesome addition to my very meagre stash being VERY new to the world of Quilting. LOVE your latest quilt top too!!!
Wow! I'm making a scrap vomit quilted Quilter's Tote. I like yours though with the crosses in it. Nice idea for my next one.
Since I think that vomiting is the funniest thing EVER, I think it appropriate that I should make a scrap vomit quilt!
I am in the process of teaching myself how to sew and quilt. A bundle of scrap vomit would be really useful! Hope you have fun in SLC!
I just started cutting squares for my own scrap vomit. I have a feeling it'll be awhile before I get to sewing them together - boy do I need more ugly scraps! Thanks Brenda for the giveaway! I love Pink Castle Fabrics!!
Wowyzowie! What a giveaway!! I've got about 200 2.5 inch squares cut for a scrap vomit quilt so I have a lonnnnnng way to go and this giveaway would certainly help :) Have fun at Summit [jealous].

Someday a scrap vomit quilt will be necessary! Bit first the other projects that are undone... unless of course I win a scrap vomit bundle. :)
I have so few scraps, but would love to make a scrap vomit quilt. I am hunting out scrap packs and thinking about trying to arrange a swap. These 25 FQs would be a big bonus.
A scrap vomit quilt looks like so much fun, and what a great way to use up all those teeny tiny little bits too :-)
First time I have tried to win a pile of vomitous fabric.
I love this one, the tangerine centers look awesome! I'd love to win a bundle, I don't have enough scraps yet.
Vomit never looked so good!!!
Yay for vomit! I would love to acquire a stash!
Im still working on the first one dare I say ??? Here's to lagging way behind..They are so colorful.
I love the scrap vomit quilt. What a great way to use all those awful scraps.
I would LOVE to win the FQs and make a scrap vomit quilt with them.
I would love to make one of these scrap vomit quilts. In fact, I plan on it...someday, anyway :)
Who could resist a quilt with such an intriguing name? Bring on the fabrics.
Do you know of anyone in the US who is organizing a fabric exchange for the scrap vomit quilt? If there's enough interest, I'd love to host one...

Can't believe you are on your 4th one of these quilts. It's still on my list to do.
"amazeballs crafters" - I am stealing that phrase and I'm going to drop it into a conversation at the next gathering of my friends in the Stitching Girls Society and they will fall out laughing. I will give you proper credit.
I would so love go win. I started cutting the blocks for this quilt last night. I just need to pick up some black fabric tomorrow. Thanks for the chance.

I have so much old fabric I think I'm going to have to make one of these, or two or three....
Oh I'd love to win this ... I need a bit of scrap vomit in my life:-).
This could be the start to a really vomitty quilt. Is that a word?
Well since I haven't caught the bug and made one of these quilts yet, maybe now is the right time to come into contact with your scrap vomit so I can build up some immunity!
Wendy:)
Love your scrap vomit quilts and I will have to try and make one. I have my mother's pile of 30 years worth of dressmaking cotton scraps to go through.
I feel a scap vomit coming on.
I cut all my scraps into squares and strips for a SV quilt, but then procrastinate about it because I'll have more scraps when i make my next quilt.... maybe this stash pack will "allow" me to just get on with it!! Thanks for the chance to win!
I love that scrap vomit bundle and wish it would be mine!!
that'd make a great birthday present! love your vomit quilts.
I love scrap quilts and I am "feeling" your "vomit" quilt. Have printed off the directions and will start on mine, but I would love some of the new fabrics to mix with my old ones. Fingers crossed!
Well, you got me hooked! I am in two scrap vomit swaps (thanks, gnomeangel!) and going crazy collecting all sorts of vomity fabrics. I will hopefully meet you in SLC, where I plan to bring a good amount of squares, just in case people want to swap or I can just get a jump start on the blocks. My fingers are crossed for some more awesome fabrics to add to the mix! Love, love, love your blog, btw.

Because I need another project on the go, I'd love to make this! Thanks for the chance to win vomit scraps.

Ooh I can always use more fabric - pretty or vomit-y!
Your vomit could be my treasure!! Thanks!!
I WILL make a SVQ one of these days! I WILL! BTW, your quilts are SOOOO beautiful!!!
I moved to Salt Lake this summer, I really wish I was going to sewing summit! I bet you'll have a blast. Order a torpedo at Bruge's waffles and a coconut/mixed berry half and half gelato at Capo. Best eats in the city!
Looking forward to hearing about sewing summit! I've been attempting to hold off making a scrap vomit quilt for a while, need to actually finish some projects before I start some more...however, if I acquired the fabric for it I'd have to do it!
i am cutting and saving as many scraps as possible to start my first scrap vomit :) just finished cutting up all those wierd fabrics i had stuck in the donate box..., felt WONDERFUL, LOL!
It is really sickening just how good these quilts look! Must attack the old fabrics that are taking up valuable space in my cupboard ...Thanks Katy!
I LOVE the scrap vomit quilts you've made!
Thanks for the chance to win!
You are my scrap vomit heroine! Without you, I'd never have started one - and I definitely would not know the name :-)!
Keep up the good scrap vomiting and thanks for the giveaway!
dorte_dk (at) yahoo.dk
I would love to own some of your scrap vomit...I need to go through mine and start cutting. My vomit tub is overflowing too!!
cjpike at indiana dot edu
If only my vomit looked so good...
This scrap quilt is still on my wish list.
I love the part of your quilt that looks like a Golden puppy about to eat a fried egg. I have some of the eggy fabric and when a square of it goes into my SV quilt, now I really want to put it next to something that looks ready to eat it. (Maybe one of the really ugly dinosaurs scraps I have...)
Love scrap quilts and love your patern -and samples - but I need to change the name - for me (not for you, so chill) , or I just can't stay focused and sew. Hope I haven't missed a chance for this stash addition.
Oh I'd love to win this great bundle! What a great addition to my pile of squares. Great blog I love reading it. Thanks
